Yellow Drum Project Mid-Year Update

As of July 2021 the Yellow Drum Project has collected 143 yellow drums of biodegradable waste from our subscribers. All of that adds up to about 6.4 tons of bio waste that has been diverted away from land-fills and to our composting plant. To put that number into perspective, let's look at some conversions.

  • A standard underbone motorcycle weighs around 120kg which comes out to being about the same as 53 motorcycles worth of waste!

  • An average sedan weighs about 1 to 1.5 tons so we collected waste equivalent to almost 6 sedans worth!

  • The largest elephant in the world, the African Bush Elephant comes in at 2.6 to 6 tons so we diverted enough waste to equal 1 large African Elephant!

  • Anchors used on large ships like cruise liners can weigh over 27 tons so we were able to treat biodegradable waste equivalent to almost 1/4 of one of these anchors!

We would like to thank our subscribers for helping us to reach this milestone. We hope to be able to serve you better in the future and to work with you to continue to make a positive impact on the environment.

Let's make Composting the Next Big Thing!
