for the clean and safe management of biodegradables
More than compliance, it’s better business and sustainability
Do you know that sustainable waste management also makes good business sense? From reducing environmental impact to safeguarding reputation and improving productivity, managing waste is always a step in the right direction.
Types of Wastes
Our Waste Management Process
Our standard 60L capacity yellow drums issued to clients for the clean and safe storage of their biodegradable waste.
Collection
Using our 60 liter capacity yellow drums with airtight covers, biodegradables can be stored and collected conveniently and hygienically to avoid bad odors.
One of our DENR-EMB accredited vehicles is positioned at the truck scale for measurement of gross weight of received biodegradables.
Transport
With our versatile line-up of DENR-EMB accredited transport vehicles, we are able to promptly transport the collected biodegradables to our plant for treatment.
One of the composting compartments containing newly-unloaded biodegradable waste.
Treatment
Once the collected biodegradables are brought to the plant, they are added to compartments and periodically mixed to allow for the hyper thermophilic bacteria to convert the biodegradables into Bio Fertilizer.
Our Industrial-Scale Composting
DTBC’s waste management process utilizes a patented technology is clean, sustainable, and circular.
clean
Protocols executed by well-trained personnel include odor control, standard storage bins, and high-temperatures during the treatment process which extinguishes harmful pathogens.
sustainable
The byproduct of the waste treatment process is a compost-based soil conditioner, which is then used to regenerate agricultural soils and increase the yield of farmed crops.
circular
This process completely diverts biodegradable wastes away from the landfill, fulfilling mandatory compliance and supporting the circular economy.
Our clients receive standardized 60-L drums for the clean and safe storage of their biodegradable wastes.
A compost starter is applied to reduce odor, deter pests and insects, and prime the waste for composting.
We dutifully collect your biodegradable wastes in a timely, clean, and orderly manner.
One of the DENR-EMB accredited trucks on the truck scale for exit weighing for tare weight determination.
Yellow drums are unloaded in the composting bays.
Each bay in the composting plant is monitored.
The temperature in each compost pile is measured and maintained to ensure clean and quality compost.
Coconut husks being crushed prior to composting
Feathers from a poultry processing plant in the process of being composted
Depackaged food products being prepared for composting
A payloader turns the compost. Smoke rises due to the hot temperature from the active bacteria decomposing the biodegradables.
DTBC's yellow storage drums are cleaned using recycled wastewater from our on-site wastewater treatment facility.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Davao Thermo Biotech issue a certificate of waste treatment?
Yes. As a Davao City Ecological Solid Waste Management Board endorsed and a DENR-EMB accredited Treatment Storage and Disposal (TSD) facility with DENR-EMB accredited transporter vehicles, Davao Thermo Biotech Corp. can and does issue a certificate of waste treatment for waste received including but not limited to I101, I102, and H802 Hazardous Waste.
What is the cost of this service?
The cost for waste treatment would depend upon the type and quantity of waste to be treated. This can be further specified in a service agreement to be signed by the waste generator and Davao Thermo Biotech Corp.
Do you collect hazardous waste?
Yes I101, I102, and H802 can be collected, but the waste generator shall apply for a Permit to Transport (PTT) and a Hazardous Waste Manifest form from the DENR-EMB prior to collection schedule. Davao Thermo Biotech Corp. provides a PTT kit that includes the application form templates for simplified application. All fees incurred relative to the application shall be shouldered by the waste generator.

How will the biodegradable waste be transported?
Pickup from the waste generator can be arranged using our 60 Liter capacity yellow drums to store the biodegradables in. Alternatively, the waste generator may choose to transport their waste to the treatment plant on their own upon prior scheduling. Walk-in disposal requests will not be entertained.
Does this waste treatment technology have any negative effects on the environment?
No. The waste treatment plant is constructed in such a way as to prevent leachate contamination into the earth and the patented natural hyper thermophilic bacteria used in the composting process produces heat at over 100°C to destroy pathogenic organisms.
